Getting the Job Done
To me, art should be personal and deeply interesting. I love weaving different worlds together—whether that means pulling from historical art references, utilizing classic animation techniques, layering in symbolism, or even dropping in modern memes and playful phrases (like I do in my Kittie Sweets coloring books!). I use visual storytelling to ensure the final piece doesn’t just sit there, but actively interacts with the audience.
But great design isn’t just about making things look good—it also has to work.
When expanding my sketches into final marketing assets and designs, I do extensively research on the target market, as well as current trends in color and style, and even language usage. I analyzing what is currently performing well in the market.
In the final stages of creation, I also evaluate design to ensure it adheres to brand guidelines and best practices for legibility and accessibility.
My ultimate goal is simple: To create art, design, and marketing assets that are fun, educational, entertaining, and get the job done!
